The City of Burlington is located in the north end of Skagit County. The City is administered by a
mayor-council form of government and serves over 8,100 citizens. The City has seven elected
Council Members and an independently elected Mayor. The City operates on an annual $6.7
million General Fund budget. The City employs more than 130 seasonal, full- and part-time staff
members who provide services including police, fire protection, building and planning, court,
parks and recreation, public library, cemetery services, street construction, engineering, sewer
and general administration.
