The City of Kent, located in King County, has a population of approximately 84,900. An
independently elected Mayor and seven elected Council Members administer the City. The City’s
operating budget was approximately $182 million, including almost $72 million for General Fund
operations. Its approximately 750 employees provide services such as water, sewer, police,
Municipal Court, fire emergency medical, parks and recreation, planning and economic
development.
