The Port of Walla Walla has bonding authority and taxing powers. Formed by voters in 1952, the
Port is governed by three elected Commissioners who serve six-year terms. In 1989, the Port
assumed ownership of the Walla Walla Regional Airport. The Port became the lead economic
development agency for Walla Walla County in 1996. The Port is organized to operate an airport
and provide services related to leasing industrial properties and farmland.
The Port received approximately $8.6 million in revenues for 2005 and $6.3 million in revenues
for 2004. It has a staff of 18 full- and part-time employees.
