The Port of Whitman County was established in 1958 and is administrated by an elected, threemember Board of Commissioners. The Port operated on a budget of $2.2 million for 2005 and $4.9 million for 2006. Five employees provide industrial and economic development services to the general public. Operations are primarily supported through user charges, such as rent for Port-owned industrial parks and fees for the use of water ports. The Port also operates camping and moorage facilities at Boyer Park.
