Wahkiakum County was incorporated in 1907 and serves approximately 3,900 citizens. An
elected, three-member Board of Commissioners administers the County. The County provides
public safety, civil and criminal courts, road construction and maintenance, planning and
development, health and social services and general and administrative services. The County
has approximately 101 full-time and 21 part-time employees and operated on a budget of
approximately $25 million during 2006.
